Norway's Trondelag Theatre chooses Studer Vista 8

February 28, 2005

In Trondheim, one of Norway's leading theatres is celebrating the success of its musical 'An-Margrit' by Norwegian writer Johan Falkberget. It is the largest production to be staged at the Trøndelag Theatre since the installation of a new Studer Vista 8 digital front-of-house console just three months ago.

The 525-seat theatre is one of the most popular cultural centres in the heart of Norway, with 110,000 people attending productions every year. After an extremely successful season last year, the theatre decided to upgrade its front-of-house control systems, choosing a 42-fader Vista 8 console.

Mikael Gullikstad. one of the four permanent sound engineers at the theatre, reports that they "all really like to work with this desk. Not only is it very easy to operate, but we love the sound of it. I particularly like Vistonics, and the way the touch screens are integrated in the console. It is very simple to copy cues and settings to the channel you want, and two engineers can easily operate the console at the same time."

The console was delivered by LydRommet, Studer's distributor in Norway, and a long-standing supplier of technology to the Trøndelag. LydRommet and Jarle Felin, Studer's sales manager in Scandinavia, have a track record together, with notable success at NRK, and DetNorskeTeatret which also uses Studer Vista 8 for its front-of-house control.
